A record-setting Jolly Trolley Food Drive
The Jolly Trolley set new highs for donations of food and cash this year. Due to the generosity of the patrons at the three Jolly Trolley stops and large donations from several partners, the Jolly Trolley was a smashing success in 2022!
Almost five tons of food was collected and distributed to the beneficiaries as well as over $4,100. These amounts are the most the Jolly Trolley has ever collected in a single year! Over the last 12 years, the Jolly Trolley Food Drive has distributed a total of 47,809 pounds of food (9,820 pounds in 2022) and $26,454.12 ($4,164.80 in 2022).
It is always heartwarming to see the thankfulness of the volunteers and employees at the food shelves when the Jolly Trolley pulls up to help stock their shelves just in time for the holidays. Metro Bus thanks all those whose contributions helped those most in need in our community, especially the volunteers who helped staff the locations each night, load the buses with food, and deliver the donations to Catholic Charities Emergency Services, Promise Neighborhood of Central MN and St. Cloud Area Salvation Army!
