Since COVID, Metro Bus saw a change in how our community uses our transit services. With the development of new travel patterns brought on by the pandemic, as well as growth in parts of Central Minnesota, Metro Bus wants to evaluate our services to make sure people are getting the most out of their transit experience.
This project is a study that looks at the service area (St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Sartell and Waite Park), its change over the past few years, and current Metro Bus services to figure out how transit and other mobility resources can best help people get to the places they want to go.
One essential part to understanding the state of the system is hearing from the community to learn about the customer experience.
What is working well? In what areas can we improve transit services?
Are there any places that do not have service that should?
How are Metro Bus services making your trips easier? How are they limiting your ability to get around the service area?
This study will be ongoing through the rest of 2023 into the first half of 2024, with an expected publication date in the summer of 2024. The estimated timeline below presents the steps Metro Bus will take to produce a study that is comprehensive and collaborative with a finished product that reflects the interests of the people in the service area.
To make this process and any service or design outcomes from it as beneficial as possible, Metro Bus needs the perspective of members of the community so we can learn firsthand how transit can best serve the Central Minnesota region.
