The Metro Bus fleet is in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and continues to seek ways to integrate new or enhance existing accessibility features.
The Metro Bus core values of safety, integrity and service excellence ensure that we have effective safety, professional and service skills to provide the best public transportation service possible for our communities.
All Metro bus Operators have ADA law knowledge and are educated in customer service techniques focused on dignity and respect. All our buses are wheelchair accessible and Operators are trained in wheelchair securements as well as operating accessible bus features.

Customers may request a modification to Metro Bus policies, practices or procedures to accommodate their disability.

Metro Bus Dial-a-Ride is a shared-ride, paratransit service for individuals who are unable to use Fixed Routes. Dial-a-Ride is Door-through-Door, Operator-assisted service with a Curb-to-Curb option.
Riders must apply to determine when and under what circumstances the applicant can use Fixed Routes and when Dial-a-Ride is required. It’s easy to use Dial-a-Ride. Once certification is approved simply contact our Dispatchers to schedule your ride. Riders may travel within the Dial-a-Ride service area.

Metro Bus offers a reduced fare during off-peak times for individuals with disabilities and seniors aged 65 and older with proof of qualification.
Service animals are trained to assist individuals with disabilities. Service animals are allowed on buses, shelters and facilities. Service animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered unless the service animal’s work or the person’s disability prevents use of these devices. All other animals brought on board must be in an approved pet carrier.

The Metro Bus Travel Training service is for anyone who wants to learn how to ride the Metro Bus system. Our Travel Trainers specialize in helping seniors, individuals with disabilities and people with limited English skills. Training is FREE and customized to fit your needs, whether general information, in-depth one-on-one, group or virtual sessions.
All trainings are available in English, Spanish and Somali. Other languages available upon request.
