Metro Bus CEO wins prestigious safety award

Metro Bus is proud to announce CEO Ryan I. Daniel has been named as the World Safety Organization’s (WSO) J. Peter Cunliffe Transportation Award winner for 2023. The award recognizes an “active member of the WSO, who has shown above average skills in leadership, and supervision of transportation programs, etc.” and “who exhibits total dedication and commitment to the protection of people, property, resources, and the environment through participation and personal involvement in professional safety activities.” The WSO is a global institution promoting safety and sustainability across industries. The WSO works with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals for safer workplaces worldwide.
Mr. Daniel exemplifies the principles of the WSO and the J. Peter Cunliffe Transportation Award as well as the dedication necessary to lead Metro Bus on its continuing mission to provide safe, reliable, friendly transportation services for St. Cloud, Sartell, Sauk Rapids and Waite Park. During his tenure at Metro Bus, accidents have been significantly reduced as the agency advanced the safety of staff and passengers to the top of the priority list. In 2016, Mr. Daniel initiated new safety improvements which reduced preventable accidents by 55% from 2017 through 2021. Development and implementation of the Metro Bus Safety Program was the key management factor in this improvement.
Through focused internal communications, team development and his hands-on approach, Mr. Daniel continues to push the Metro Bus team toward the lofty goal of ZERO preventable accidents!
