Meet Metro Bus Dispatcher Mo
By Lisa Sabyan

Mo is a spiritual, positive, amazing Dispatcher at Metro Bus whose talent for making meaningful connections with friends, family, co-workers and community members does not go unnoticed. Joining the Metro Bus team in 2014, Mo is always learning and seeks to share joy and spread love to everyone.
It’s not surprising that Mo is also a passionate cook. There is an energy and love when preparing and cooking food as well as the bond shared over a meal that mirrors Mo’s connections at Metro Bus. “I cook with my whole soul. Everything is there. Love. Everything,” said Mo.
We spent some time getting to know Mo recently to chat about being a Dispatcher and the impact Metro Bus has in our communities.
How long have you worked at Metro Bus?
11 years in May 2025.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to cook.
What do you cook?
(laughs) What don’t I cook?
What is your favorite thing to cook?
Italian. Pasta. And soul food, of course. That’s my specialty.
How would you describe Metro Bus?
It would definitely be fast-paced.
You build morale with your coworkers. I’m around them more than I am my own family, so you have that relationship with them. Even with some of the customers. They see you. You know, you cannot, not talk with people.
What does an average day for a Dispatcher at the Transit Center look like?
You literally just feel like you’re being pulled in so many directions. Many hats you wear. For me it’s always learning, always trying to be ahead of the game.
Tell us about a memorable moment you’ve had with a co-worker or customer?
Oh, I have a whole lot of them. Mama Hall was an 88-year-old woman, who came in (to the Metro Bus Transit Center) from St. Louis. On this particular date I had been going through something like a spiritual attack and I was in need of a change. I had prayed about it. She was such a spiritual woman. She came in off of her Jefferson (Lines) bus and somewhere along her transfers they lost her luggage so she had nothing. I asked her questions about where she was staying, where her family was … She pulled out some paperwork and come to find out my best friend was her travel agent. I see my best friend’s name I’m like, “Yeah, it’s destined I was supposed to meet this woman.” She just touched everybody and everything as she went, she’s a beautiful soul and she continued to bless others right up until she left. Even though I hated to see her leave, the last thing she did in St. Cloud was to help another young lady who had just escaped a battery situation and was short money. It was just like the blessing on top of that. She blessed me.
Is that the kind of stuff you look forward to at work?
It is. Divine intervention. It happens. My aunt always tell you, you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. So when those situations happen, I would just say it was meant to be. It’s supposed to happen.
What other stuff do you look forward to at work?
Of course, my coworkers! I really enjoy working with some of them. I see them my whole day just like I’m gonna have a good day today you just know.
What aspect of Metro Bus makes you proud to work here?
I know it sounds cheesy but when I put my uniform on I bring my all here. And that’s anywhere I go. I bring my all, so that’s a treat to give.
What advice would you give a new employee?
Write down everything. For me I always got a pen in my hand. Keep a pen in your hand because you never know. You got a huge job at all times. Always keep a pen in your hand.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
As adults we are still learning. We can learn from kids just like they learn from us.
If you could have a superpower what would it be?
To rid hate.
What impact do you want to have?
For me, it’s just sharing joy and spread love to everybody. Every walk in life I don’t care who you are, what you do. My mother would feed the needy and she would feed the rich. She didn’t care who you were. You ate. You came in our house, and you broke bread with the family. That’s just something that always kind of stayed with me. Like you just want to treat people how you wanna be treated.
