U-PASS RIDE PROGRAM

St. Cloud State University (SCSU) and St. Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC) participate in the U-Pass Ride Program. Students currently enrolled at SCSU and SCTCC can ride any Metro Bus route year-round by swiping their valid campus ID through the farebox. The Metro Bus U-Pass Ride program allows SCSU and SCTCC students to have unlimited Fixed Route bus service throughout the four city (St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Sartell and Waite Park) area without having to pay a fare.

ST. CLOUD STATE UNIVERSITY (SCSU)

  • Main Metro Bus stop is located at the James W. Miller Learning Resources Center, on 7th St S.
  • Routes 5, 8, 11, 12 operate all year, except New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day. Routes end early on Christmas Eve.

ST. CLOUD TECHNICAL & COMMUNITY COLLEGE (SCTCC)

  • Metro Bus operates five routes that serve the SCTCC campus seven days a week, all year round for students, employees and visitors.
  • The main sheltered Metro Bus stop is located on Northway Dr.
  • The Health Sciences and Heartland Buildings are located on Routes 4 and 33.
  • Route 31 serves the west side of campus on 9th Av.

SCSU Bus Routes

Direct service between SCSU and Crossroads Center shopping mall. Serves residential areas and apartments south of Division St in West St. Cloud and Waite Park. Travels as far west as the corner of 10th Av S and Sundial Dr. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center. Outbound bus stop is located only a block off campus.

Direct service between SCSU and Sterling Heights Park area. Serves the areas east of the Mississippi River on University Dr SE, and as far south as 27th St SE. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

Direct service between SCSU and Coborn’s grocery store on Cooper Av. Serves residential area and apartments south of Division St, using Roosevelt Rd to 25th Av. Travels as far west as the corner of W St. Germain St and 22nd St S. This route serves Goetten’s Way neighborhood and Maine Prairie Rd. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

Direct service between SCSU and area near McStop. Serves areas south of SCSU, including the area near Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, as well as further south off Clearwater Rd and Heatherwood Rd. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

OTHER LOCAL COLLEGES

The College of St. Scholastica and Rasmussen College are located near bus stops. While these colleges do not participate in the U-Pass Ride Program, Metro Bus is still an affordable transportation option with routes operating seven days a week.
