Metro Bus temporarily eliminates fares

In an effort to maximize social distancing and reduce the spread of COVID-19, Metro Bus is not charging fares for all services, including Northstar Link, until further notice. In addition, we are asking passengers to board and alight through the rear doors of the Fixed Route buses, except at the Transit Center or if needed for mobility reasons.

The health and safety of our passengers and employees are our top priority during this unprecedented time. Customers are required to wear face masks on all buses, waiting at bus stops and outdoors as well as indoors at all Metro Bus facilities.

Metro Bus will introduce new fareboxes, Smart Ride Cards, Smart Ride Tickets and the Smart Ride App for mobile phones. These options will offer easy, convenient and cash-free fare paying options. Click here to see what you need to know about this transition.
